FAI Secure Additional Tickets for playoff in Denmark
Published: October 21, 2017

The Football Association of Ireland confirmed on Saturday that they have secured an additional 445 tickets for the Republic of Ireland’s crunch play-off clash away to Denmark in Copenhagen.

Last Tuesday’s lunchtime in Zurich saw the Boys in Green drawn against Denmark, with the first leg taking place at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadion on 11 November.

Following consultations with the Danish FA, the FAI have secured those extra 445 tickets for the game, on top of the initial 1,900 that was granted to Irish supporters which is the required 5% allocation for competitive games under FIFA rules.

This brings the total up to 2,335 away fans expected in Copenhagen.

On Friday the FAI confirmed that the home tie is a sell out, although more tickets may become available should the Danes not take up their full allocation for the Dublin clash. Premium tickets that were reserved for the public sale sold out on Friday in less than five minutes.

The return leg will take place at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday 14 November, with Martin O’Neill’s men hoping to secure a place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Applications for the game in Copenhagen's Parken Stadium need to be submitted by 5pm on Monday, October 23, for any Irish fans hoping to head to the Danish capital on away.fai.ie.
